Adaptive offers the Advanced Medical First Responder (AMFR) level with Health Care Provider (HCP) level of CPR. A symptom relief program may be instructed in accordance to protocols set out by medical direction. The AMFR program is a comprehensive, skill-orientated course designed for those charged with responding to medical and trauma related emergencies.
As a prerequisite to the program, the student must have a current standard level certificate. The course is designed to build on these skills and consolidate them with fine-tuned assessment protocol and advanced first aid skills. Students will be trained to use related equipment including; blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, airway management devices, oxygen delivery equipment, blood glucose monitor, automated external defibrillator (AED) as well as spinal and fracture immobilization.
Prior to attending this program, the student is assigned approximately 12 hours of pre-course study material that is to be completed prior to class. During the 40 hours of class time the instructors will teach these advanced skills using a combination of hands-on skill stations, theory and practical scenarios. Scenarios are geared to medical situations and injuries that are relevant to the environment in which your staff works.
The AMFR level is a 3-year certification with annual recertification in CPR and AED protocols where needed.
